04/01/2010 2 DAY CHARITY RTV TRIAL 26 - 27th. JUNE 2010
The Wye and Welsh Land Rover Club announce that they will be hosting a 2 day RTV event for teams of 3 drivers in order to raise funds for charity.
The venue will be Maeslech Farm, Radyr, near Cardiff, South Wales on the 26th and 27th. June 2010
This event is usually run with great success by the Cornwall & Devon LRC but the club will have their hands full this year hosting the ALRC Nationals at the Newnham Park, Plymouth venue in May, so the Wye & Welsh LRC have stepped forward to host their event for this year only. Hopefully we will be maintaining the momentum of support and popularity that the C & D LRC have established with this event and will keep the ball rolling this year in preparation of the event returning to Newnham Park in 2011.
It is with the help and support of Cornwall & Devon LRC that we wish to organise and run the event along the same guidelines and similar regulations that they have established and have proved to be so popular with the competitors that regularly travel down to Devon for this event, perhaps we can attract even more entries and increase the charitable donations in 2010.
Full supplementary regulations will be available, but as a taster, here is the format for the event.Entries are invited from any Association of Land Rover Clubs, teams of three drivers to compete in two days of RTV Trials held over the Saturday and Sunday. Team member's penalties will be totalled up for both days and the team with the least points shall win.
To encourage the use of Standard RTV vehicles, each team member should compete in a class 1,2,3,4 or 5 ALRC vehicle. Vehicles may be shared ie. double or triple driven. Not to exclude motors with modifications, only one vehicle per team can be from the ALRC Modified classes ie.6,7,8,9,10,11. This vehicle may not be shared and if any team member's vehicle breaks down then the modified motor cannot be shared.
On site camping arrangements are in hand and the venue has two separate trialling areas and has proved to be a challenging and varied trials site used regularly by the Wye & Welsh LRC,but will need a great deal of hard work by it's members to ensure every competitor enjoys a tough but damage free weekend's sport.

I've often seen Landies parked up, and wished I had a Club flyer or leaflet, that I could either give to the owner, or put under the wiper blade, ... to let the owner know a little bit about our club.
Well here's one I prepared earlier, please print off a few copies and keep them in your car(s), then pass them to any Landy owners/drivers. If we all just hand out 10 each, we would contact in excess of 2000 owners,.. and if only 1% take up the invitation, that could be 20 new members to our club !! They might do a few TYROs and get the bug for more serious off road competion, or be happy to increase the social / caravanning side !!
This is something every one of us can do to help our club grow, and it will cost virtually nothing !! Please click on the link below, .. print off 10 copies and pass them on !
