It's been a while since this page has been updated; this is mainly due to my work load and continuing work at the site. I want to make it clear to all the membership that this is OUR main events ground for the foreseeable future and as such I would like to invite everyone to help out with making this the best off-road ground in the country.
If you attended the May Day event then I'm sure that you have seen the potential for the ground, many from other clubs have commented how good it is, and it can only get better. The land owners really enjoy our sport and want to work with us in making a success of it, but up until now there has been limited input from club members with the site. Thanks to those of you who have spared some time, and the more people that get involved the better.
We have had extremely successful events there so far with many more to come. I would like to see new volunteers for clerks of courses at events, since everyone sees the ground in a different light. This makes for more varied use of the ground, and a lot more experienced members.
It doesn't matter if you haven't done this before there are plenty of people around to help. Setting out an event is very enjoyable, and allows you to properly see what you can do as an off-road driver. It is easy to help out, just phone Michael Maxwell (comp sec) and he will guide you through it.
An important aspect of our events is the rectification of damage to the site. After May Day it took 3 days to return the ground to its pre event state. Its hard work, but also a good social event. Anyone can help and the more that do the better. We also have to be aware that this is a working dairy farm and that broken fences and gates have to be repaired as soon as the event is over. I would urge all drivers who know that they damaged anything, to report any damage as soon as you can to an official, and also try to lend a hand with repairs at the end of the event.
