Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team

SSART are a charitable organisation who are available to assist the emergency services. Their work includes providing 4x4 vehicle support during severe weather, to transport medical staff, patients or supplies to affected areas; lowland Search and Rescue for missing persons in rural and urban areas, and supporting emergency services at major incidents such as train or plane crashes, which might be difficult to reach by road.

Training is given in S&R techniques, off-road 4x4 driving, water resue, helicopter winching, first aid etc etc.
